The American Legion Twins and Peninsula Oilers open their 2023 seasons this week.
The Twins have a league game Tuesday in Anchorage against Dimond at 6:30 p.m. The Twins stay in Anchorage for a 1 p.m. league game and 3 p.m. nonleague game Wednesday against Service.
The American Legion squad opens its home slate Saturday and Sunday at Coral Seymour Memorial Park in Kenai.
Saturday, the Twins host South for a league game at 12:30 p.m. and a nonleague game at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, the Twins host West for a league game at 12:30 p.m. and a nonleague game at 2:30 p.m.
The Oilers, of the Alaska Baseball League, open their season with a 10-game road trip.
The trip starts Wednesday, when the Oilers face the Anchorage Glacier Pilots at 6 p.m. at Mulcahy Stadium.
Peninsula’s home opener at Seymour Park will be June 20 at 6 p.m. against the Anchorage Bucs.
The Oilers have two homestands this season — a 14-gamer starting June 20 and a 10-gamer starting July 20.
