Allie Ostrander, a 2015 graduate of Kenai Central now living in Seattle, competed in the Golden Trail Series Grand Final on Thursday and Saturday at Il Golfo dell Isola, Italy.
The Golden Trail Series draws many of the top mountain and trail runners in the world.
Ostrander qualified to compete in the Elite category in the Grand Final by being in the top 30 in the points standings.
Thursday, Ostrander competed in the Prologue, a 5.4-mile race with about 1,300 feet of vertical gain.
Ostrander finished seventh with a time of 43 minutes, 9 seconds. The win went to Monica Madalina Florea at 39:01.
Florea also won the final on Saturday. That race covered 16.2 miles and had about 4,600 feet of vertical gain.
Florea won in 2:18:05, while Ostrander was 19th in 2:40:39.
Ostrander finished 20th in the final ranking of the Golden Trail Series.
