Allie Ostrander, a 2015 graduate of Kenai Central, was named Tuesday to the 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-District 7 Track and Field/Cross Country Team. The team is selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Ostrander, of Soldotna, earned the all-district honor for the first time in her career after having a big year running and in the classroom as a redshirt sophomore at Boise State.

In cross-country, she earned the NCAA Elite 90 Award as the best scholar-athlete at nationals, where she finished fourth to earn All-America honors.

In indoor track, Ostrander was All-America in the distance medley, fifth at nationals, and the 3,000 meters, second at nationals.

In track, Ostrander will run the 5,000 meters and defend her 3,000-meter steeplechase crown at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which will be June 6 to 9.

In the classroom, Ostrander has a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. She majors in kinesiology.
