Allie Ostrander, a 2015 graduate of Kenai Central, finished second at the USA Track and Field 10-kilometer Trail Championships on Nov. 16 in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Lauren Gregory of Hanover, New Hampshire, won the race at 41 minutes, 45 seconds. Gregory was second in the Golden Trail World Series Final in mid-October in Switzerland.
Ostrander, a professional runner living in Boulder, Colorado, finished second in Arkansas at 43:18.
Marissa Howard of Boise, Idaho, was third in 44:20. Howard is light on trail running experience, but finished third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the U.S. Olympic Trials in June to qualify for the Summer Olympics.
Ostrander was seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the trials and 19th in the Golden Trail World Series Final.
