Boise State freshman Allie Ostrander was named Mountain West Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for a second time in the indoor track and field season.
Ostrander received the award Tuesday in recognition of her blazing 3,000-meter victory Saturday at the Husky Classic meet at the Dempsey Indoor in Seattle, Washington. The 2015 Kenai Central graduate held off Toronto’s Gabriela Stafford to win with a Mountain West record time of 8 minutes 54.27 seconds. The time is the third-fastest performance in oversize track history (tracks above 200 meters) and the 10th-fastest in indoor collegiate history.
