With a victory at 5,000 meters and a second at 1,500 on Saturday, Soldotna’s Allie Ostrander led the Boise State women to fourth place at the Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championship in Clovis, California.
Ostrander, a 2015 Kenai Central grad, won the 5,000 at 15 minutes, 44.11 seconds, which is a new record at the Mountain West Championships.
In the 1,500, Boise State’s Alexis Fuller won while Ostrander was second, both with times of 4:20.40. They both broke the previous conference championship record that had held for 17 years.
