Allie Ostrander, a 2015 graduate of Kenai Central High School, placed fourth at the Mountain West Cross Country Championships on Friday at the UNM North Golf Course in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The Soldotna runner and Boise State redshirt sophomore led her team to second place while also earning first-team All-Mountain West honors. Ostrander won the Mountain West title two years ago and missed the meet last season due to injury.
Ostrander went out in a pack of five New Mexico runners. New Mexico would claim the team title with 22 points, while Boise State had 50. Champion Ednah Kurgat quickly separated from the pack, winning on the six-kilometer course in 19 minutes, 58 seconds, while Ostrander crossed at 20:27.
