Boise State redshirt freshman Allie Ostrander is headed to Eugene, Oregon, this weekend to race in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Ostrander is slated to run a rare double consisting of the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase and the 5,000-meter run. The 2015 Kenai Central graduate qualified for both events by placing in the top 12 at the NCAA East and West Preliminary Championships. Ostrander clocked a 10 minute, 0.02 second, steeplechase time and a 16:25.76 time in the 5K at the preliminary championships two weeks ago in Austin, Texas.
Ostrander will be the fourth Boise State runner in school history to compete in the women’s steeplechase at the Division I national meet.
