Boise State freshman Allie Ostrander captured the gold medal, along with three of her teammates, in the women’s distance medley relay Thursday at the Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Ostrander ran the longest of the four legs — the 1,600 meter portion — to help the Broncos win with a meet-record time of 11 minutes, 16.41 seconds, over 12 seconds ahead of runner-up Fresno State. Ostrander was joined by teammates Alexis Fuller (who ran the 1,200 meter leg), Chassity Love (400 meters) and Sadi Henderson (800 meters).
The time broke the Boise State school record and is third-fastest in Mountain West history.
