The Kenai Peninsula is well-represented in the 13 individuals selected to be in the Alaska High School Hall of Fame, announced Thursday.

The Lifetime Achievement award will go to Al Howard and Dan Gensel. Howard spent many years at Soldotna High School as coach, athletic director and administrator. He still volunteers at the school. Gensel gained fame as a coach and administrator at Soldotna High School. He is currently a sports broadcaster and also was an athlete at Kenai Central.

The Activity Participant is Andrew Vait, a musician from Homer High School.

Activity Sponsors include Mark Robinson, who was the choral director at Homer for 23 years, and William Searle, a band director for 24 years at Homer.

The final inductee with some peninsula connections is referee Ron Henderson, who also reffed basketball and football in Anchorage and the Matanuska-Susitna valleys.
