A tough weekend for skiing saw the Kenai Klassic at Kenai Golf Course canceled Friday, a smaller meet at Tsalteshi Trails canceled Saturday and Sunday’s Freezer Food Series have a change of trailheads.
The Freezer Food Series will still be at 2 p.m. Sunday, but now will be at the Slikok Trails trailhead. Instead of a ski race, it will now be a “Choose Your Weapon” style race. Competitors can choose to ski, run or fat bike.
Registration starts at 1:30 p.m. and the series aims to raise funds for the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank. Entry for Tsalteshi Trails Association members is $5 with donation and $6 without donation. For nonmembers, the prices are $10 and $12.
