The fourth annual Nikiski Tri was held Saturday in Nikiski, featuring a 500-yard swim, 10.6-mile bike ride and 5-kilometer bike ride.

Jon Iannaccone took the overall and men’s race, crossing the line at 1 hour, 5 minutes, 14 seconds. Morgan Aldridge was second overall and the top women’s finisher at 1:09:11. The top time in the relay belonged to Erin Liesel and Rustin Hitchcock at 1:17:21. Also of note, Chase Laker, just 13, finished fourth overall at 1:11:45.

The event is put on by The Compass, which exists to help youth navigate the challenging teen years. Proceeds of the event go to help youth in the community. Sponsors are the North Peninsula Recreation Service Area, The Compass, Heather and Heather Screen Printing, Epperheimer Inc., Weaver Brothers Inc., Nikiski Fire Association, Boatright and Sons, M & M Market, Olde Goat Cafe, Nikiski Hardware and Little Blue Bird Creations.
