The visiting Kenai Central baseball team defeated Redington 18-0 in five innings Saturday in Northern Lights Conference play.
The Kardinals wrap the regular season at 7-3 in the league and 9-3 overall.
The game was scoreless headed to the third inning, but Kenai scored seven in the third, five in the fourth and six in the fifth.
Braden Smith went all five innings for Kenai, giving up three hits and a walk while striking out six.
Zane Pellegrom was 2 for 4 with three runs and three RBIs for Kenai, while Jacob Joanis had two RBIs, Braden Smith had two runs and two RBIs, Gabe Smith was 2 for 4 with two runs and three RBIs, Gabe Joanis walked four times, Brandon Blake was 2 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs, Everett Chamberlain had three runs and two RBIs, Avery Martin was 2 for 3 with two runs, and Jackson Marion scored twice.
Soldotna 7, Wasilla 5
The visiting Division II Stars finished tuning up for the postseason with a second straight victory over a Division I squad. SoHi finishes the regular season at 14-3 overall.
Soldotna trailed 4-0 entering the fifth inning, but scored three runs in the top of the fifth. Wasilla answered with a run in the bottom of the fifth, but SoHi pushed four more runs across in the sixth against the Warriors, who were hurt by six errors in the game.
Jayden Stuyvesant was 2 for 4 with two runs for the Stars, while Wyatt Gagnon was 2 for 4 and Andrew Pieh scored a pair of runs.
Colby Sturman worked the first three innings, giving up four runs on two hits while walking three and striking out six.
Matthew Schilling gave up an unearned run on two hits in two innings, while Derrick Jones slammed the door with two hitless, scoreless innings.
Homer 9, Houston 4
The visiting Mariners picked up a Northern Lights Conference victory Saturday to finish the regular season at 7-8 overall and 6-4 in the league.
Homer jumped on top 6-0 after the top of the second inning and Houston was never able to significantly cut into that lead.
Preston Stanislaw was 3 for 5 with two runs and two RBIs to lead Homer, while CJ Burns was 2 for 5, Malachi Raymond was 2 for 5 with two runs, Camden Wise scored two runs and Oak Anderson was 2 for 4.
Wise went all seven innings on the mound, giving up four runs — one earned — on five hits while walking four and striking out seven.
