The Soldotna softball team moved to 10-2 in the Northern Lights Conference and 18-8 overall with a sweep at Houston on Saturday.
The Stars won the first game 15-2, breaking open a 2-all tie with nine runs in the third inning and four runs in the fourth inning.
Kiara Forkner worked all four innings for the Stars, giving up two runs — one earned — on six hits while walking four and striking out five.
Tatum Cooper was 2 for 2 with three runs and two RBIs, while Isabelle Cruz was 2 for 2 with two runs and three RBIs, Forkner was 2 for 3 with two runs and two RBIs, Aliya Blough had two runs, Bailey Conner was 3 for 4 with four RBIs, and Kadee Adams had two runs.
SoHi won the second game 8-0 in five innings. Forkner went the distance for the shutout, allowing just a hit and a walk while striking out eight.
Conner was 2 for 3 with two runs while Cooper had three RBIs, Cunningham had two RBIs and Bella Byrd scored a pair of runs.
Kenai 27, Redington 8
The visiting Kardinals ended their regular season with a Saturday nonconference victory in five innings. The Kards are 7-17 overall.
Kenai scored eight runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings and the Huskies could not keep up.
Caitlyn Crapps was 4 for 5 with two runs, Maggie Grenier was 3 for 4 with three runs and two RBIs, Avery Ellis was 2 for 5 with three runs and three RBIs, Kailey Stynsberg was 2 for 4 with three RBIs, Kyana Griskevich was 2 for 2 with two runs and three RBIs, Lola McEwen was 4 for 5 with four runs and three RBIs, Peighton Curren was 4 for 5 with three runs and five RBIs, Zoey Riley was 3 for 5 with three runs and three RBIs, and Avia Miller was 4 for 4 with three runs and three RBIs.
McEwen pitched three innings, giving up seven runs on eight hits, while Avery Ellis pitched two innings, giving up an unearned run while not allowing a hit.
