The American Legion Post 20 Twins defeated Dimond 15-1 in six innings Saturday at the Alaska 529 Midseason Classic at Mulcahy Stadium to finish 3-0 in pool play.
The Twins (10-7 overall) move to the semifinals at 5 p.m. Sunday against Eagle River, which finished finished second in the other pool to the Napoleon (Ohio) River Bandits.
The River Bandits, now 11-0 on their trip to Alaska, take on Chugiak in the other semifinal at 2:15 p.m. The championship is at 7:30 p.m. West and Service play for fourth place at 11:45 a.m.
Post 20 was in dominant form against the Lynx, leading 5-1 after two innings, then tacking on two in the fourth, one in the fifth and seven in the sixth.
The Twins took advantage of everything to score, getting 10 hits, getting hit by a pitch six times, watching Dimond commit five errors and collecting three walks.
Matthew Schilling continued a solid tournament by going 2 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs, while Jacob Joanis was 2 for 4 with two runs and an RBI.
Gabe Smith, Andrew Pieh, Jayden Stuyvesant and Malakai Olson all scored two runs for the Twins.
Hunter Williams got the win, going five innings and giving up a run on five hits while walking two and striking out five.
Jacob Joanis had an inning of perfect relief, striking out one.
