Lydia Jacoby, an incoming senior at Seward High School, will start her competition at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, early today in the 100-meter breaststroke.
Jacoby, who has the No. 2 time in the world this year in the 100 breaststroke, will swim in the preliminaries in a session that starts at 2:59 p.m. AKDT today. The semifinals will be at 5:50 p.m. AKDT today, with the finals taking place at 6:17 p.m. AKDT Monday.
According to the Seward Tsunami Swim Club, there will be a watch party at the Dale R. Lindsey Railroad Terminal in Seward. The watch party will be at 2:30 a.m. today for the prelims, 5:15 p.m. today for the semifinals and 5:45 p.m. Monday for the finals.
