The Kenai Central softball team was swept by Kodiak on Friday at Steve Shearer Memorial Ball Park in Kenai.
The Kardinals fell by 12-4 and 27-1 scores and are 3-7 overall.
In the first game, the Kards led 4-3 after three innings. The Bears then scored nine runs in the top of the fourth to win in four innings. Shelby Hemphill was 2 for 2 for Kenai.
In the second game, Kenai trailed 3-1 after an inning, but Kodiak erupted for 12 runs in the second and 12 runs in the third to end the game after three innings.
Bash on the Bay
After Thursday and Friday play at the Bash on the Bay tournament in Homer, Sitka leads the tournament at 4-0, while Chugiak is 3-1, Delta is 2-2, Palmer is 1-3 and Homer is 0-4.
Friday, the Mariners lost to Delta 17-1, Chugiak 10-2 and Palmer 13-1. Homer is now 2-9 overall on the season. Against Chugiak, Emily Owens and Becca Trowbridge both had a pair of hits for Homer.
