The Soldotna baseball team dropped to 5-6 overall with a 13-2 nonconference loss to Colony on Saturday in 4 1-2 innings.

The Knights led 5-0 after the first, 7-0 after the second, 7-2 after the third and 13-2 after the fifth.

Colony was able to bang out 10 hits in four innings against Soldotna pitchers Jacob Belger and Daltyn Deborski.

At the plate for Soldotna, Belger and Atticus Gibson scored the runs, Deborski and Andrew Pieh had the hits and Riley Johnson had an RBI.

The host Warriors scored six in the first inning and five in the second to take command in the game, which went 4 1-2 innings. The Stars are 5-5.

Evan Dahlen went all five innings for the Warriors and only gave up hits to Levi Mickelson and Josh Pieh.

The Warriors got to SoHi starter Andrew Pieh early, but Josh Pieh came in and worked three innings, giving up a run on two hits while walking one.

Grace Christian 6, Homer 4

The host Grizzlies dropped the Mariners to 1-5 in Southcentral Conference play and 1-10 overall.

In the top of the first inning, Homer had the bases loaded with nobody out and didn’t score. Homer coach Rich Sonnen said that foreshadowed a frustrating game to come.

Harrison Metz pitched all six innings and gave up three hits and two walks while striking out eight, but errors hurt Homer as only two of the runs were earned.

Metz went 4 for 4 with two RBIs, while Austin Ceccarelli was 1 for 3 with an RBI and Gabe Dash and Malachi Raymond had hits.

In the seventh, Homer had the tying run on second but was unable to advance that runner.

The visiting Mariners dropped to 1-11 with the nonconference loss to the Warriors in one inning before the mercy rule kicked in Saturday.

Austin Ceccarelli had the run for Homer, while Josiah Raymond had the RBI. Harrison Metz was 1 for 1.
