Soldotna senior Seth Hutchison was named a state winner for the Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award on Thursday by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.
The Dave Schultz award was established in 1996 to honor the Olympic and world champion. His career was cut short when he was murdered in 1996.
According to the National Wresting Hall of Fame, the award celebrates wrestlers for their excellence in wrestling, scholastic achievement, citizenship and community service.
Hutchison, who was his fourth state wrestling title in December, did not make the cut for the Schultz award for the West Region.
