Soldotna senior Bryce Martin signed a letter of intent Tuesday afternoon to play football at Allan Hancock Community College in Santa Maria (California). Martin said he plans to study engineering.
The Bulldogs will be getting a two-time All-Conference offensive guard and All-Conference linebacker, as well as a First-team All-State linebacker. Martin is a four-year player with the Soldotna Stars, three at the varsity level. SoHi has won five straight medium-schools championships and has amassed a current 49-game win streak, a state record.
“He was a great player for us,” said SoHi head coach Galen Brantley Jr. “He was a very committed player, he spent a lot of time in the weight room, and it’s great to see him finally figure out where he wants to go next.”
Martin also received MVP honors at the Alaska Shrine North South game in late October, a contest reserved just for the state’s top senior players.
