The prep track season began Friday with the Big C Relays at The Dome in Anchorage. The relays continue today.
The Soldotna girls distance medley relay, an event involving 1,200-, 400-, 800- and 1,600-meter legs, won with a time of 13 minutes, 26.02 seconds, with Service finishing second at 13:31.96.
Also in the top six in the Friday finals for Soldotna’s girls, Kaytlin McAnelly was second in the pentathlon 100 finals at 13.65, the 400 relay of Mandi Sisley, Gracie Bras, Haiden Wilkinson and Brianna Ehret was fifth in 56.62, Madalyn Morris was sixth in the discus at 88 feet, 4 inches, Katelyn Morrison was third in the high jump at 4—8, Adara Hagelund tied for fourth in the high jump at 4—6 and McAnelly tied for second in the pentathlon high jump at 4—4.
Also on the girls side, Nikiski’s Rylee Ellis was sixth in the long jump at 14—4 1-4.
On the boys side, Soldotna’s Dylan Dahlgren was second in the pentathlon 100 at 12.14 seconds, Soldotna’s Nathanael Johnson was third in the 400 at 52.10, Homer’s Seamus McDonough was second in the 3,200 at 9:36.24, the Swedish 100-200-300-400 relay of Soldotna’s Jacob Strausbaugh, Dylan Dahlgren, Ethan Sewell and Trevor Michael was fourth in 2:21.05, Soldotna’s Luke Miller was sixth in the shot put at 40—2 and Dahlgren was sixth in the pentathlon high jump at 5—0.
