The Soldotna volleyball team led the Kenai Peninsula at the Dimond-Service Tournament in Anchorage on Friday and Saturday by finishing tied for seventh in the Gold Bracket.
In bracket play, the Stars lost to Dimond 25-20, 25-22, then lost to Thunder Mountain 25-15, 25-15.
Nikiski finished tied for third in the Silver Bracket.
The Bulldogs defeated Palmer 2 25-13, 25-8, then lost to Palmer 25-22, 15-25, 15-11.
In the Bronze Bracket, Seward finished second. The Seahawks defeated Juneau-Douglas: Yadaa.at Kale 25-14, 25-17 and lost to Kodiak 25-19, 19-25 and 15-10.
Friday pool play was used to seed the Saturday bracket play.
In pool play, Soldotna and Nikiski were 5-3 in Pool C and Seward was 2-6 in Pool D.
Soldotna defeated Eagle River 25-10, 25-20, lost to Service 25-15, 25-17, beat Nikiski 25-18, lost to Nikiski 25-20, and beat North Pole 25-17, 25-21.
In addition to splitting with Soldotna, Nikiski defeated Eagle River 25-11, 25-11, lost to Service 25-23, 25-17, and defeated North Pole 25-15, 28-26.
Seward lost to South 25-16, 25-18, lost to Thunder Mountain 25-18, 25-17, lost to Chugiak 25-18, beat Chugiak 25-21, beat Palmer 26-24 and lost to Palmer 25-18.
