Paul Steffensen, who finished his baseball career for Kenai Central in 2017, has kept right on rolling as a freshman at Mesa Community College in Arizona.
Steffensen got a hit in the first 26 games of his career (if a game where he appeared only as a pinch runner is not counted), having the streak snapped in a March 13 game against Grand Canyon University Club.
Steffensen has appeared in 31 games for Mesa thus far and is hitting .425 with 34 runs and 24 RBI.
He has five triples, four doubles and a home run and has walked eight times while striking out just six. He also has stolen 14 bases without getting caught.
