Sterling’s Morgan Aldridge won the women’s overall at the Eagle River Duathlon on Sunday.
The event was originally a triathlon, but was switched to a duathlon due to a mechanical failure in the pool at Chugiak High School, according to the website.
The new format was a 1.1-mile run, followed by a bike of 12.4 miles, followed by a run of 3.1 miles.
Aldridge finished the event in 1 hour, 13 minutes and 32 seconds. Pam Schamber was second at 1:16:24.
Aldridge rolled up a massive advantage on the bike, finishing that leg at 38:34. Schamber was at 41:16, while Heather Helzer, in third place overall, was at 42:53.
