The American Legion Post 20 Twins defeated Post 34 East and Post 35 Wasilla on Sunday in Anchorage to move to 2-2 in the league and 3-2 overall.
Post 20 topped East 14-0 in five innings.
Malakai Olson, who had a rocky outing against Eagle River in the Twins opener, was back to his dominant self. In five shutout innings, he allowed two hits and no walks while striking out 10.
Andrew Pieh was 2 for 4 with two runs and a homer for the Twins, while Jayden Stuyvesant was 2 for 4 with three runs, Levi Mickelson scored two runs, Gabe Joanis was 3 for 4 with two RBIs, and Jacob Joanis had three RBIs.
The Twins topped the Road Warriors 8-3 in seven innings. Seven runs in the third inning carried Post 20 to the victory.
Hunter Williams went the first four innings on the mound, giving up two runs — one earned — on four hits while walking three and striking out three. Pieh pitched the last three innings, giving up a run on two hits while striking out two.
Pieh once again led at the plate, going 2 for 3 with two runs and two RBIs.
The Twins host Dimond at Coral Seymour Memorial Park in Kenai on Saturday, June 15, in a 12:30 p.m. doubleheader. The first game is league, the second game is nonleague.
