Kenai Central graduate Taylor Ostrander took 13th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday in Canton, New York.
Ostrander, a junior at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, reached the final for the second-straight season and ran 11 minutes, 5.29 seconds, to claim the 13th-place finish.
Friday, Ostrander earned First Team Capital One Academic All-District VIII honors in women’s track and field and cross country, as chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Ostrander is eligible for the 2014-15 Capital One NCAA Division III Academic All-America Team.
Ostrander is majoring in exercise science at Willamette. Prior to the spring semester, she owned a 3.77 cumulative grade-point average.
