Jonah Theisen finished second out of 59 racers at the Yellowjacket Open in Billings, Montana, on Saturday, helping the Black Hills State mens team win the team title.
Theisen ran 19 minutes, 44 seconds, over the four-mile distance to finish runner-up behind race winner Benson Koech (19:30). The 2015 Kenai Central graduate’s finish ensured the No. 14 ranked Yellow Jackets the team championship with 30 points, almost half as much as second-place University of Mary with 59.
Theisen now has six top-10 finishes in 11 career collegiate races.
