The Bash on the Bay softball tournament started Thursday in Homer, with Soldotna defeating Homer, and Kenai losing to Chugiak 11-0 and defeating West 7-5.
The Stars topped the Mariners 22-7 in four innings in a game that also counted for Northern Lights Conference play.
The Stars are 6-5 overall and 2-2 in the league, while Homer is 1-1 and 4-11-2.
Tatum Cooper was 3 for 3 with two runs and five RBIs for the Stars. Bailey Conner was 1 for 2 with two runs and three RBIs, while Juliet Innes had two runs and Katie DeBardelaben had three runs.
Kiara Forkner went two innings and gave up five runs on nine hits for the Stars, while Isabelle Cruz pitched an inning and gave up a run.
For Homer, Ariana Davis had two RBIs, Emily Owens was 2 for 3 and Charlotte Fraley was 2 for 2.
On the mound for Homer, Becca Trowbridge gave up four runs without getting an out, while Keagan Niebuhr gave up five runs in 1 1-3 innings and Brenna Cox gave up five runs in an inning.
Kenai is now 2-8 overall. The Kardinals did not get a hit against the Mustangs. Fox Coyle gave up seven runs in 2 2-3 innings and Avery Ellis gave up four runs in 1 1-3 innings.
Against West, Lola McEwen went all four innings, giving up five runs on nine hits while walking three and striking out two.
Ellis was 2 for 2, Kyana Griskevich was 2 for 2, Kailey Stynsberg was 2 for 2 with two runs and Seylor Tomrdle was 2 for 2 with two RBIs.
