The Post 20 Legion Twins broke open a close game by rallying from behind in a 15-5 league victory over Fairbanks Post 11 Friday evening in Anchorage.

The Twins trailed 5-3 in the eighth inning, but scored 12 runs in the bottom of the frame to necessitate the 10-run rule.

The win left Post 20 with a 6-0 league record and 8-1 overall this summer.

Mathew Daugherty earned the win on the mound, going six innings and giving up just one earned run on four hits. Daugherty struck out eight and walked seven. Klayton Justice entered for two innings of relief and gave up three hits (none earned) on two hits, while striking out one with one walk.

J.J. Sonnen led Post 20 from the plate with a 3-for-4 day with four RBI. Josh Darrow also went 3 for 4 with a triple, while Cody Quelland went 3 for 6 with two RBI, Paul Steffensen was 2 for 5 with a triple, and Mason Prior scored three runs. Overall, the Twins outhit Fairbanks 16-6.

The Twins led 3-1 after five innings, but Fairbanks closed the gap with a run in the top of the sixth and took the lead with three runs in the top of the seventh.

The victory was nearly in hand for Post 11, but the Twins had other plans, keeping the bases busy with 12 runs in the bottom of the eighth.
