Watkins breaks own South Dakota State school record in pool

Soldotna swimmer Cody Watkins made a splash Thursday with a new school record at the Summit League Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Watkins broke his own school record swimming for South Dakota State University in the men’s 100-yard butterfly with a time of 49.07 seconds, lowering his previous mark of 49.34. The 2017 SoHi grad finished fifth in the race.
