The Peninsula Oilers and Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks split an Alaska Baseball League doubleheader on Wednesday at Lee Jordan Field in Chugiak.

The Anchorage Bucs continue to lead the league at 13-5, while the Oilers are 10-8, the Mat-Su Miners are 9-9, the Anchorage Glacier Pilots are 8-14 and the Chinooks are 7-11.

This was the third and fourth games in a nine-game, eight-day road trip for the Oilers. The trip continues when Peninsula travels to Hermon Brothers Field in Palmer to face the Miners at 4 p.m. Thursday.

In the first game, Oilers starter Emerson Fleck was able to work around six hits in five innings in allowing two runs. He walked one and struck out four.
