The Wasilla boys hoops team mounted a second-half rally and topped Kenai Central in Northern Lights Conference action 48-43 in overtime Saturday at Kenai Central High School.
After trailing Kenai 23-11 at halftime, Wasilla scored 15 points in both the third and fourth quarters, while holding Kenai to only five in the third. In the extra period of play, Wasilla outscored Kenai 7-2.
Alex Baham scored 12 of his 17 points in the second half to lead the Warriors, while Cash McGregor added 11 of his own.
Kenai’s Jonah Theisen paced Kenai with 15 points, while teammate Trevor Shirnberg provided 11.
Kenai outscored Wasilla 16-3 in the second quarter to distance itself, but the Warriors turned the tables on the Kardinals to complete the comeback.
Kenai will face the Homer boys team Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Wasilla girls 42, Kenai 31
After staying with the Warriors for much of the first half, the home team Kardinals were dropped by Wasilla in the second half in a conference loss Saturday in Kenai.
McKenna Dinkel and Cassidy Edward led Wasilla with 15 and 10 points, respectively. Justice English paced Kenai with 15 points.
Leading 21-18 at halftime, Wasilla finally distanced itself by outscoring Kenai 12-6 in the third quarter.
ACS girls 70, Skyview 30
The host Lions cruised to a Southcentral Conference victory on Saturday.
Dallas Dickerson had 21 points for the Lions, while Madison Ealum added 10. For Skyview, Jacy Rouse had 12 points.
ACS boys 92, Skyview 20
The host Lions cruised pas the Panthers for a Southcentral Conference victory Saturday.
Nate Simmers had 18 points for ACS, while Christian Lopez had 16, Levi Auble had 16, Calvin Hoffman had 15 and Emanuel Lopez had 13.
For Skyview, Jacob Carlson led the way with eight points.
Grace boys 64, Skyview 29
The Skyview boys dropped a Southcentral Conference matchup against one of the top confernce teams Friday at Grace Christian.
The Panthers were shut out in the first quarter, as the Grizzlies ran out to an 18-0 lead, then proceeded to outscore Skyview 20-11 in the second quarter.
Hans Karlberg scored 12 points for Grace, while teammates Luke Offord and Frew Winkle each added 10. Skyview was paced by Micah Hilbish with 11 points.
Skyview girls 42, Grace 35
The visiting Panthers emerged victorious over the Grizzlies in a conference matchup Friday at Grace.
Hayley Ramsell propelled Skyview with 10 points, and teammates Sam Reynolds and Joanne Glaves each contributed eight. Grace was paced by Mikayla Shamburger with 11 points.
After being outscored by Grace 15-5 in the first quarter, Skyview turned things around with a staunch defense. The Panthers outscored Grace 14-3 in the second quarter, resulting 19-18 lead at halftime.
Skyview continued to push its lead out in the second half, outscoring the Grizzlies 23-17.
Colony girls 45, Kenai 20
The visiting Knights played suffocating defense to subdue the Kardinals on Friday in Northern Lights Conference action.
Faith Farris paced the Knights with 15 points, while Justice English had 14 points for the Kards.
Colony boys 65, Kenai 40
The Knights used a huge third quarter to claim a Northern Lights Conference victory on Friday at Kenai.
Kenai was within 18-13 after one quarter and 33-24 at the half, but Colony came out and outscored the Kards 19-6 in the third quarter to decide the affair.
Damien Fulp had 17 points to lead the Knights, while Graham Dinkel had 12 and Bailey West had 11.
For Kenai, Trevor Shirnberg led the way with 12 points.

Bristol Bay 38
The host Eagles notched a nonconference victory over the Angels on Saturday.
CIA led 13-6 after the first quarter and 22-12 at halftime.
Kendra Brush had 20 points for the Eagles, while Nicole Moffis added 15.
Homer girls 56, Grace 47
The visiting Mariners notched a Southcentral Conference victory Saturday.
Homer grabbed a 16-10 lead after one quarter and was able to make it stand up.
Tayla Cabana had 20 points for Homer, while Madison Akers added 17. For Grace, Mary Hogan had 14, while Hayley Hagan had 12.

Grace led 13-5 after one quarter and 36-15 at halftime.
Hans Karlberg had 25 points, including five 3-pointers. Josh Laker had 15, while Trevor Osborne added 12.
For Homer, Quinn Daugharty had 21 points, with five 3s.
ACS boys 91, Homer 48
The Homer boys hoops squad became the victim of a high-powered Anchorage Christian Schools offense Friday night.
The Mariners, one of the Southcentral Conference’s top teams, got 21 points out of Quinn Daugherty, who hit five of Homer’s 10 shots from beyond the arc.
ACS, meanwhile, one-upped Homer on 3-pointers with 11 total, four coming from Calvin Hoffman, who scored 23 points to lead ACS.
Leading 24-17 after one quarter, ACS outscored Homer 21-9 in the second frame to stake out a 45-26 halftime lead. From there, ACS continued to widen the gap, ending with a 27-point fourth quarter performance.
ACS girls 74, Homer 39
Like the boys game, the ACS girls took charge on offense to breeze to the Friday win. ACS also did its part on defense, holding Homer to 11 points in the second and third quarters combined.
Dallas Dickerson led the Lions with 27 points. Madison Akers paced Homer with 12 points.
Bristol Bay girls 50,
Ninilchik 44
The Bristol Bay girls rallied with a big fourth quarter to top Ninilchik Friday night in Ninilchik.
Ninilchik led 24-21 at halftime, but the Angels outscored the Wolverines 19-11 in the fourth quarter, getting six points from Isabel Babiak, who had 15 points total to lead Bristol Bay.
Ninilchik was paced by Jessica Rogers with 16 points, nine coming in the first quarter.
Seldovia Tournament
The Nikolaevsk boys wrapped up a 3-0 record and tourney championship at the Seldovia Tournament on Saturday with a 63-60 victory over Cook Inlet Academy.
Nikolaevsk coach Steve Klaich said Nikolaevsk, CIA and Seldovia should be the top three seeds at the Peninsula Conference tournament, so this tournament was a good warmup for that.
Nikolaevsk led 19-8 after one quarter and 30-26 at halftime. It was then 48-45 after three quarters.
Jaruby Nelson had 32 points for Nikolaevsk, including seven 3-pointers. Timmy Smithwick had 28 for CIA, while Mylon Weems added 16.
Also Saturday, Seldovia played Nanwalek, but that result was not available as the Clarion went to press.
On Friday, Nikolaevsk improved to 2-0 at the tournament with a 71-50 victory over Nanwalek.
The Eagles kept it close for three quarters. Nikolaevsk led 19-13 after one quarter and trailed 33-30 at halftime. After taking a 48-46 lead after three quarters, the Warriors put on a 23-4 finishing kick.
Nikit Fefelov had 18 points to lead the Warriors, while Jonah Fefelov had 16, Jeruby Nelson had 15 and Neil Gordeev had 14.
For Nanwalek, John Romanoff led all scorers with 21 points, while Michael Anahonak had 13.
In other action Friday, the Cook Inlet Academy boys topped Seldovia by three on a 3-pointer at the buzzer by Timmy Smithwick.
