Youngren, Dixon win Zombie Half Marathon

Dickerson takes 3rd

Soldotna’s Megan Youngren and Seward’s Pyper Dixon won the Zombie Half Marathon on Saturday in Anchorage.

Youngren finished the 13.1-mile course in 1 hour, 18 minutes, 30 seconds, to defeat runner-up Elizabeth Balsan of Anchorage by 33 seconds in the race with 170 finishers. Anchorage’s Julianne Dickerson, who grew up in Kenai, was third in 1:21:29.

Also from the peninsula, Kenai’s Lottie Barton was 70th in 1:47:04.

Dixon finished at 1:13:41, topping runner-up Tracen Knopp of Wasilla by 50 seconds in the race with 99 finishers. Seward’s Kenny Regan was fifth at 1:23:24.

Also from the peninsula, Homer’s Louden Greiner was 90th in 2:29:07.
